Mineral Process Plant Optimisation

Plant optimisation support across fixed plant and mobile materials handling equipment.

Mineral Process Plant Optimisation — photo 1
[ 01 ] Project context

A newly built process plant in the Pilbara region required improvement across fixed crushing plant, reclaim performance, stockpile modelling and plant throughput. The work needed practical control-system and process understanding so changes could improve production outcomes without creating instability, excessive manual intervention or future support issues.

[ 02 ] What was done
  • 01 Investigated client bottlenecks and developed practical findings and recommendations
  • 02 Established a change-management approach for control-system improvement work
  • 03 Supported fixed plant optimisation
  • 04 Supported stacker and reclaimer optimisation
  • 05 Reviewed control-system behaviour affecting reclaim performance
  • 06 Supported changes to reduce reclaim time
  • 07 Supported improvements to plant throughput
  • 08 Improved stockpile modelling calculations
  • 09 Worked across fixed plant and mobile equipment interfaces
  • 10 Aligned control-system behaviour with operational targets
[ 05 ] Outcome
  • 01 Reduced reclaim time
  • 02 Improved plant throughput
  • 03 Improved stockpile modelling calculation
  • 04 Improved operational visibility
  • 05 Supported better production decision-making
  • 06 Provided a more maintainable basis for ongoing optimisation
